Other ways to obtain permanent residence (a green card) include asylum, investment visas, and the annual diversity lottery program.

  • Family sponsorship.
  • Employment sponsorship.
  • National Interest Waiver.
  • Outstanding Researcher or Teacher.
  • Extraordinary Ability.

Family Sponsorship

Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens are not subject to immigration quotas and therefore can generally process their applications much quicker than those subject to quotas.

Immediate relatives include spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens and parents of U.S. citizens who are over 21 years of age. There are five family-sponsored categories subject to numerical limits. These numerical limits often create long waiting lines.

Applicants who are born in India, Mexico, the Philippines, and mainland China can expect the longest waiting lines.

We help our clients throughout this lengthy process by ensuring that all notifications are timely made to the appropriate agencies.

Employment Sponsorship

We provide comprehensive business visa and employment sponsored immigration services to clients in California, the United States, and the world in all the permanent business visa categories.

In most cases, obtaining a permanent business visa requires that the individual or business take specific steps, and demonstrate certain conditions through the process known as PERM labor certification.

In some cases, the PERM certification process is not required. These are mostly in the first preference employment category and some categories in the second preference employment category.

National Interest Waiver

A national interest waiver may be attainable for an individual with an advanced degree or exceptional ability that meets certain criteria and can demonstrate his or her employment would be in the national interest, including their employment, that would benefit the U.S. economy.

Outstanding Researcher or Teacher

An outstanding researcher or outstanding teacher exemption may be obtained by professors, teachers, or researchers who meet certain requirements and can demonstrate that they are internationally recognized as being at the top of their academic field.

Extraordinary Ability

The extraordinary ability exemption is for individuals that meet certain requirements and can demonstrate they have risen to the top of their respective fields.
